Edina Realty’s Snowman Contest is an opportunity to build a display in your front yard using the Snowman Hat provided by Edina Realty. Stop in to the Edina Realty office Monday- Friday, January 20-24 from 11am-6pm and pick up the official Edina Realty Snowman Hat (supplies are limited – first come first serve).

How to Enter: Snap a fun photo highlighting your creation, it will be uploaded to the Edina Realty Facebook page (specific instructions available upon hat pickup). The entries with the most likes will win $75 gift certificate to Mt. Kato, $50 gift card to the Wooden Spoon and $25 to the Coffee Hag!

Spend your no-school day at the Children’s Museum and enjoy a variety of winter-themed adventures! Due to extremely cold weather planned for Monday, we’re moving our programs inside.

Instead of snowshoeing, Scott Kudelka, Minneopa Area Naturalist will bring a different program to the AgLab, “Wild About Wildlife.” Come learn about some of the cool animals that can be found throughout the state and learn how these mammals have adapted to survive in their natural environment.

Join Nicollet Bike Shop’s guided fat bike ride to the Kiwanis Mountain Bike Trail for a mix of single track, ATV trail, and pavement riding and then on to the LocAle Brewing Co. for rewarding refreshments ($1 off beers for riders).

This will be a treat as the Kiwanis Mountain Bike Trail and Skills Park was named one of Minnesota’s “20 Popular Fat Bike Trails You’ve Never Heard Of” by Singletracks. There are some requirements.

SnowDazzle on the Plaza

Mankato Civic Center Plaza
Mayo Clinic Health System presents SnowDazzle on the Plaza. The Civic Center Plaza will be illuminated by dazzling laser lights supported by Minnesota, State University, Mankato and interactive hand-crafted ice carvings which will be perfect for #Instagrammable moments. Come watch the ice carvers work on their masterpieces between Thursday – Friday afternoon.

Then on Friday between 5:00 – 7:00PM grab some hot cocoa or food by Wooden Spoon and Pizza Ranch and enjoy music by Radio Mankato. At 6:00 Dance Express will provide some entertainment on the stage featuring two teams and a special surprise performance provided by Mayo Clinic Health System.

MSU will host their popular Hockey Night in the Civic Center Plaza. Take part in the outdoor festivities before the showdown on the ice. Game starts at 6:07. Activities will include interactive ice sculptures, music,  by Radio Mankato, fun games and food for purchase by Pub 500, Wooden Spoon and Pizza Ranch. All of this in the midst of a wintery wonderland atmosphere including the laser light show supported by Minnesota State University, Mankato and the Ice Sculptures in the Civic Center Plaza.

Snowshoe Hike at Minneopa

1 pm at Minneopa State Park
Going for a snowshoe hike is a wonderful way to enjoy winter and a landscape covered in snow. Come out to Minneopa State Park to take a hike across the snow-covered terrain as a way to embrace this season’s natural environment.

On this hike the Minneopa Area Naturalist will share some of the history of snowshoeing, tips on the different types of snowshoes, and fun places at Minneopa State Park to go snowshoeing. If there isn’t enough snow it will become a hike. Snowshoes available for rent.

Hike starts at 1pm at the Minneopa State Park Campground!
