Theatre Physics XXV
2018 marks the BLC Theatre Department’s 25th year of the annual Theatre Physics performances, and this anniversary will be celebrated in true uproarious style. This exercise in creative energy features a variety of short scenes of original material by Bethany students and theatre faculty written, rehearsed, and readied in three weeks. The five shows are extremely popular for all ages and fill quickly, so reservations are strongly encouraged.

Mankato Beer Run
The beers will be flowing, the music will be jumpin’, and the folks will be running and walking through the finish on their way to victory. Then, head on over to Central Business District of Historical and Unique Beautiful Lower North Mankato for the 6th annual Bier on Belgrade! Feeling competitive and want to run/walk the 5K? Your race will be timed, and you’ll be able to meet the rest of the group for your free post-race beer after the event! All fitness levels welcome. Don’t feel like racing the full 5k? Sign-up for the .05k (a hot 54 yards!) and enjoy all the awesome perks and get your own little 30 second race to the beer garden!

Business on Belgrade presents our miniature version of German heritage and fun. Music Event: MN River Valley Wind Ensemble
The ensemble is a semi-professional group comprised of faculty, community members, music teachers, music students, and professional musicians. The group is in its thirteenth season and continues to perform demanding music with a group of very talented musicians.

MSU, Mankato Sesquicentennial Homecoming Parade
Minnesota State University, Mankato will hold its Homecoming Parade this fall in downtown Mankato for the first time since 1970. The 1-mile downtown parade route is approximately double the distance of the ½-mile campus parade route used in recent years.The parade route was lengthened and moved downtown this year in honor of Minnesota State Mankato’s sesquicentennial celebration, and also to acknowledge the 150th anniversary of Mankato’s city charter.

Where: The parade will begin on South Front Street at the corner of West Liberty Street and proceed through downtown Mankato on South 2nd Street and then through Old Town on North Riverfront Drive for its final six blocks.

The Music Man
The Music Man – The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band that he vows to organize – this, despite the fact that he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain’s fall.

History and Painting at the Falls: Plein Air Day at Minneopa
Visitors will have a chance to watch artists painting scenes of Minneopa and ask questions about their paintings and art. Music Event: Sesquicentennial Musical Showcase
The program, honoring the 150th anniversary of the University founded in 1868 as the state’s second normal school, features the University Concert Choir, the Concert Wind Ensemble, the University Community Orchestra, and Maverick Vocal Precision. Along with standard ensemble repertoire performances, the audience will be invited to sing along with the Concert Wind Ensemble in a rendition of the Minnesota State Mankato Hymn.
