Hiniker Pond is a 55-acre park that has a 28-acre spring-fed pond. The pond, a former sand and gravel pit, has exceptional water quality for swimming and fishing. Amenities include a sandy beach, a fishing pier, picnic shelters, walking trails and restrooms. The fishing pond is handicapped-accessible. Hiniker Pond is open daily from 6:30 a.m. to sunset. The beach is open for use during the summer from 9 a.m. to sunset.

Indian Lake Conservation Area

Indian Lake Conservation Area is a 120-acre regional park that provides an outstanding recreational and environmental resource for generations to come. The park, located south of Mankato on Indian Lake Road, merges environmental and recreational amenities. It offers a multi-use trail system which circles Indian Lake and connects with other regional trails. The trail is approximately three miles round trip. Visitors are asked to stay on the trail and help protect the fragile wetland environment. This trail is plowed in the winter months.

Nestled between the Minnesota and Blue Earth Rivers, Sibley Park is one of the oldest parks in Greater Mankato, once featuring a horse racing track, regional zoo, museum and clay tennis courts. Now featuring an agricultural theme, the park has been recognized as having one of the coolest playgrounds in the state by NewsCastic in 2015. A fitting petting zoo with farm animals goes along with that theme.
