Greater Mankato hosts a number of fantastic events throughout the year but fall is one of the most spectacular times to visit due to our ambundance of events, festivals and fun! The Amazing Castle, a 2,000 square foot national traveling exhibit from Minnesota Children's Museum here in Greater Mankato from November to May 2010. As visitors explore The Amazing Castle and its eight themed areas, they are introduced to seven storybook characters who are part of the castle community. From entertaining to sewing, each character has a special role. As they move through the castle, village visitors playfully explore the interconnectedness of community members in a setting inspired by fantasy and history. Children in costumes and role-play lords and ladies or castle villagers. Visitors can work in the Royal Workshops with "Trim the Tailor" or "Gable the Carpenter." They pick vegetables in the garden, tote them to the Great Hall to cook up a royal meal and visit the tower to wake "Herald," the sleeping dragon! November 19th, 4-7 pm, FREE Grand Opening! otherwise... Cost: $3 per person age one and up (including parents or caregivers) Audience: Infants through children age 10, families and groups.
