The Mankato Sports Commission is made up of 18 community leaders from various sporting groups including:

Larissa Egli – Director of Mantas Swim Club

Paul Gaspar – Research Scientist for Pioneer Hi-bred International – Vise President of Administration for Mankato United Soccer Association & Soccer Coach

Steve Hatkin – C.F.O. of Mankato Clinic – MAHA Board Member, Hockey, Football, Golf & Snow Boarding

Bukata Hayes – Mankato Diversity Council

Seth Hoscheit – Recreation Coordinator of Community Ed & Rec

Role of Commissioners:

The Sports Commission will operate as a department within Visit Mankato, LLC. It has a dedicated staff and will be led by an Advisory Committee (Sports Commissioners) that will serve in an advisory role to the Sports Commission staff, Visit Mankato President and up to the Visit Mankato Board of Governors.

The duties and responsibilities of the Commissioners are the following:

• Advocate for facility development, event development, Sports Commission in general
• Advise in all aspects of Sports Commission work
• Determine strategies/business plan for Sports Commission
• Approve annually the Sports Commission Staff team goals
• To review monthly financial reports for submission to the Board of Directors
• To review and approve monthly meeting minutes
• To review and evaluate proposed event bid proposals
• To review the annual budget proposal for submission to the Board of Directors
• To review the annual business plan for submission to the Board of Directors
• Review applications for new Advisory Board members and recommend appointments to the full Board as needed
